The real story

The person behind Isha Listens

I was a lonely child.

Not the kind of lonely that looks dramatic from outside - I was surrounded by people. But I was unseen. Unheard. And somewhere along the way I picked up a belief that most of us carry without realising it: that I am only lovable if I am pretty enough, funny enough, successful enough. That belonging had to be earned.

It took me years - more than I want to admit - to understand that I am lovable exactly as I am. Not a future version of me. Not a better-dressed, more-put-together version. This version, right now, is enough.

But here is what I also learned: that journey is long. And it is very hard to walk alone.

Why Isha Listens exists

We were not built for isolation. We were built for people who get it - who will sit with us in a messy conversation, share a laugh over nothing, or just be quietly present when words feel like too much.

I started Isha Listens because I did not need a therapist. I needed a human. Someone who was not going to fix me or advise me or reflect my feelings back at me in clinical language. I just needed someone to be there.

That is what I want to give you.

A space where you do not have to perform. Where you can say the things you have been editing before you say them out loud. Where feeling like too much is never a possibility.

What I bring to every session

I am not a therapist or a counsellor. I am a trained peer listener - which means I have learned to listen without judgment, without an agenda, and without rushing you toward a solution.

I bring patience. Genuine curiosity about who you are. The ability to sit in silence without making it awkward. And the understanding that sometimes a shared laugh matters as much as a deep conversation.

I will never tell you what to do. I will never make you feel broken for feeling the way you feel. And I will always be honest with you - including about what I can and cannot offer.

What Isha Listens Is Not

I want to be honest with you about this because you deserve to know before you reach out.

Isha Listens is not therapy. I am not a licensed mental health professional. If you are experiencing a serious mental health condition, a crisis, or thoughts of harming yourself, I will always encourage you to reach out to a qualified professional - and I will try to help you find the right resources.

What I offer is human connection. And sometimes that is exactly what is needed.

If any part of this resonated — I would love to meet you. Your first 15 minutes are always free.
